FreeWheel is primarily a camping tour.
Ample outdoor camping space is available
at each FreeWheel host community.
Limited indoor space is generally available on a first-come-first-serve basis in gymnasiums or
other buildings. Local churches and civic organizations may offer indoor camping for a small fee.
Indoor space is sometimes air conditioned, but not always.
NOTE: There is no guarantee that indoor space will be available in any community by the time you arrive.
Showers and toilets will be available for those staying in camp. Showers
will be in gymnasiums, field houses, swimming pools, or other similar public facilities. By the end of
the day, these showers may be cold, so be prepared (though a cool/cold shower can often be very
refreshing at the end of a day on the road!).
Additionally, FreeWheel provides a shower truck located conveniently to each night's campsite. The shower
truck is available each evening until 10pm and is generally ready for riders in the next host community by noon.
FreeWheel also supplements toilet facilities in host communities with a number of porta-johns located
conveniently to the campsite.
