The start of FreeWheel 2004 is .... Duncan. We started there in 1992. Beautiful town. We will be at the Simmons Center. Frank Fuqua was the first mayor.

Next is the home of the Mo Betta shirt factory - which makes all of Garth Brooks Shirts ... Apache.

Next, is the first city in Oklahoma to get the "Great America Main Street Award." It is also home to the Pumpkin Festival ... Cordell. Or, New Cordell.

Then, Gateway to the Washita Battlefield National Historic Site and Black Kettle National Grasslands ... Cheyenne. Don't think because you are in far western Oklahoma that the place is flat. It is NOT. You climb hills getting into town and getting out the next day. Oh yea - it is where Madonna's bucking bull was built!

Wednesday's route will take you to the 2002 Class A Football Champs' home town ... Thomas. A surprising town that is excited about hosting us.

Thursday, it's off to the Gloss (or Glass) Mountains, Canton Lake, Thunder Road and ... Fairview! Home of the Fall Bike Fest. You'll fall in love with the hospitality of this wonderful town. There may be longer options on this day. Fairview also has a large John Deer Festival each year.

Friday is the flatest day's ride and probably will have the century option. But you may want to ride quickly then a get a bucket and shovel and dig for Hydrous Calcium Sulfate - or Selenite Crystal at the Great Salt Plains. It's ... Cherokee. Or bring your binoculars and go bird watching.

Finally, we'll end in Kansas of course! In the town of ... Anthony, Kansas!

Don't think it's going to be a boring ride. It is surprisingly beautiful - hilly, and yes, there are trees - tall ones. But also unlike anywhere else in Oklahoma we've ridden.
